Novolex is investing $2.6 million to expand operations at its Jackson facility, at 111 Edwards Drive in the Bonwood Industrial Park, Novolex officials and Team Madison County announced Friday.

This expansion is internal, and will create 20 new jobs — a 10 percent increase in employment — at the facility, allowing the company to meet growing customer demands, officials from the Hartsville, S.C.-based company said in a news release.

“Novolex is a strong member of Jackson’s business community, and we appreciate their confidence in Jackson, Tennessee,” Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist said. “We found out over the last few years how difficult it is to land new industry, but this expansion shows the strength and success of Novolex, and we appreciate its investment in our city."

Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris said the addition of the new jobs is most welcome news.
