J-MC Schools look at architects

Architect firms made presentations to the Jackson-Madison County School System on Monday, but many pieces must come together before concepts become schematics for Vision 2020.

“Once we know the scope of what we’re roughly going to do, I think that will guide these other decisions,” said Jim Campbell, chairman of the board.

The school board is scheduled to vote on Vision 2020, an initiative to restructure the school system, in December. The options currently offered by consulting firm Kimley-Horn would close several schools and repurpose others, requiring remodeling in several buildings.
