Jackson-Madison County School Board spent hours discussing Vision 2020 options at its retreat Monday.

Options included whether to invest in the Early College High program and whether Malesus Elementary School or South Elementary School should be closed.

"Quite candidly, we're not nearly as far along in this process as I'd hoped we'd be at this point in time," said Jim Campbell, chairman of the board. "We didn't eliminate any options tonight. We may have added one or two."

Vision 2020 is an initiative to restructure the school system by closing several buildings, sending those funds into educational initiatives like textbooks and new programs.
