Economic development, public education, public safety and wellness were the engines that drove the Jackson Chamber’s Forward Jackson campaign that was created in 2009.
Those initiatives remain, but small business growth and tourism will help fuel Forward Jackson 2.0 for the next five years.
“It is not our responsibility to make your cash register ring,” said Kyle Spurgeon, president/CEO of the Jackson Chamber. “But it is our responsibility to create an environment where, if you have a good product at a good price, and offer good customer service, that you will be successful.”
Spurgeon made his comments when he and Ryan Porter, the Chamber’s chief operating officer, spoke during the Jackson Chamber’s Quarterly Membership Breakfast on Tuesday at the Carl Grant Events Center at Union University.
