With shovels sporting a sparkly, green bow and heads covered by neon green construction hats, six leaders of Tennova Healthcare-Regional Jackson ceremoniously broke ground for expansion of the surgical suite on Tuesday.
The project will increase the size of the six current operating rooms and add two more, increase the number of recovery rooms, and enhance resources throughout the surgical unit. It will also allow installation of advances in medical technology, such as robotic surgical equipment.
“It helps us to be able to offer surgeries when they’re needed for our patients as well as ensure that the most advanced medical procedures and techniques will be able to be held here,” said Peggy Donaldson, director of community relations.
