Jackson Chamber announces manager of Workforce Development

Vicki Bunch will become the Manager of Workfoce Development on July 11, 2016.

Vicki Bunch will join the Jackson Chamber as manager of Workforce Development on July 11. As manager of Workforce Development, Bunch will develop and plan the workforce development strategy, collaborating with the chamber’s economic development team and workforce development stakeholders. She will maintain communication with the Jackson-Madison County School System and work with post-secondary institutions to accomplish goals to meet the needs of the business community. She will identify workforce needs from area businesses and work to fulfill these demands.

Jackson Chamber President/CEO Kyle Spurgeon emphasizes the importance of workforce development and the role Bunch will play. 

“Workforce development is the number one opportunity to create a competitive advantage in the area of economic development,” says Spurgeon. “Vicki’s background as a chamber director and her most recent work with the Leap Grant program gives her the background to lead our workforce development efforts.”

Bunch joins the organization with a decade of Economic Development experience, including her tenure as Executive Director of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce. Her workforce development experience also includes her work at Jackson State Community College and the area Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technologies.

Previous affiliations include president of the West Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives (WTCCE) and Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executive (TCCE) board member. Bunch also served on the Jackson Regional Partnership’s Advisory Council and Tennessee College of Applied Technology Advisory Board. She is a graduate of WestStar and Leadership Henderson County.

Bunch received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Union University in public relations/advertising with a minor in management/marketing. She has been married to her husband, Jason since 1991 and they have two children, Will (18) and Ella (13).
