PRA’s Jackson Site Continues to Hire

By: Megan Seals, Communications Coordinator, Jackson Chamber on Feb 14, 2013

The Jackson Chamber announced today that Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA) has hired approximately 100 people since October 2012, including account representatives, operations managers and IT personnel, and will hire an additional 30 people by March 2013. PRA has more than 3,000 employees in 10 U.S. states and the United Kingdom, with approximately 440 at its Jackson location.

“We are always looking for people with strong customer service experience,” said Angie Counce, vice president of operations for PRA in Jackson. “Our company is committed to providing excellent customer service, and we’re proud of our Jackson employees for the quality results they deliver.

“There is a very skilled and motivated labor force in this area, so we have been able to hire people with excellent customer service skills,” Counce said. “We also have an outstanding facility here with available space for expansion. One of the reasons we invested in this facility is because of the talented labor pool in Jackson.”

PRA was nationally recognized in 2012 as one of Fortune's 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.  The company also was named as one of Forbes’ Top 25 Best Small Companies in America and one of its 10 Hot Companies Hiring Like Crazy in 2012, and has been annually ranked as one of Forbes’ 100 Best Small Companies since 2007. PRA attributes its success to its employees who work together as a team to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service.

“PRA’s hiring is good news for our community,” said City of Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist. “PRA is a strong company and we will always support them as they continue to grow.”

“I am encouraged to see businesses, like PRA, continuing to hire,” said Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris. “This shows the strength and success of PRA, as well as the region.”

PRA is committed to giving back where its employees live and work. In 2011, the company supported the Jackson Chamber’s Forward Jackson Campaign, which helps make Jackson a better place for employees to raise their families as well as developing long-term benefits for the region. Through the generosity of its employees, PRA was able to raise more than $13,000 through a program that provides matching funds for employee donations. The company made a total campaign investment of nearly $27,000.
