Chamber Hosts Membership Event to Recruit New Businesses
Approximately 150 volunteers gathered together Tuesday, April 29 to Thursday, May 1 to help support the Jackson Chamber for its 2014 “Teaming Up with the Chamber” Membership Event. Volunteers from area businesses worked for two and a half days to help recruit new chamber members and to communicate the important role of the Jackson Chamber.
“A community with a strong economy has a strong chamber behind it,” said Mark Field, Senior Vice President of Membership, Knoxville Chamber and guest facilitator for the 2014 Membership Event. “The ability for businesses to have an organization in their community where they can get resources, tools and grow referrals is incredibly important.”
After two and a half days of phone calls and visits to Jackson businesses, chamber staff and volunteers from the event gathered together on Thursday, May 1 for a tailgate post party celebration and awards ceremony. The celebration recognized the success of the event and also the chamber volunteers for their efforts. With the conclusion of the event, the volunteers recruited a total of 177 new members.
“We are incredibly grateful for our community and the volunteers that made this event such a success,” said Lisa Cothran, Vice President of Membership Development, Jackson Chamber. “This event helps build not only the Jackson Chamber’s membership base, but our community as a whole.”
