Chamber Outlines Forward Jackson II Strategic Plan

The Jackson Chamber announced goals, strategies and actions in the Forward Jackson II strategic plan at the DoubleTree Hotel today.
The plan is designed to guide the Chamber and its partners over the next several years while building on the progress made over the last five years in economic development and quality of life in the Jackson area.
Kyle Spurgeon, the president and CEO of the Jackson Chamber, said core strategies include promoting of economic development in Madison County and the region, enhancing education and workforce development, helping small businesses in Jackson thrive and growing tourism in the area.
Spurgeon said goals for enabling strategies include safety and security in the community, including support of strategies that continue to reduce crime rates, with a greater sense of accountability for all leaders in the community to help support efforts to improve safety.
To enhance safety and security, Spurgeon said tactics would include working to inform business owners and employers about the resources and services the Jackson Police Department has that are relevant and available.
Spurgeon said he wants to maximize the Jackson brand and image by continuing to improve the image of the city in the minds of people both inside and outside the community.
He said he wants the Chamber to work with various partners and entities to aggressively and effectively promote Jackson as a place to live, work, shop, play, learn, be healthy and invest.
