White brings over 15 years of economic development experience in economic development, industrial recruitment and retention to her role as the senior vice president, economic development, with the Jackson Chamber. She works closely with Team Madison County, whose mission is to market Jackson to industrial prospects and expanding companies in an effort to grow jobs and investment in Madison County. Since her involvement with Team Madison County, a total of 8,558 new jobs have been created with investments more than $1.34 Billion by new and expanding industries. White has been dedicated to three goals throughout her career: enhancing the economic prosperity of the Jackson region, building meaningful and productive professional relationships and leading by example with integrity. At the Jackson Chamber, she has been able to blend these values with the goals and initiatives of Team Madison County.
With many years of experience in economic development, White brings a broad array of knowledge and skill to the organization. Prior to her role in economic development, she served the Jackson Chamber in the areas of Business Services and Membership Services, making her a well-rounded in a variety of chamber programs and initiatives.
White is also a leader in economic development, having served as secretary/treasurer, vice president, president and immediate past president of the Tennessee Economic Development Council, a 350 member state wide professional organization. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute, the Dale Carnegie Training Course, Leadership Jackson and WestStar regional leadership program. She was selected to participate in the TVA Leadership Institute and is a graduate.
White has dedicated her service to a variety of organizations as a member and board member. She serves on the advisory boards for both Jackson State Community College and Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Jackson. She is a former board member of seven years for the Kiwanis Club of Jackson, where she received the distinguished President’s Award for Service and Officer of the Year. She serves on the board of directors for the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services. She served on the NAIA Division I Women’s National Basketball Tournament Board of Directors for a period of 11 years and the Therapy and Learning Center’s Advisory Board for 6 years. She is a member of the Japan-America Society of Tennessee, Southern Economic Development Council, Council for Community and Economic Research and Jackson Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Committee and is a mentor to six local college students with the TN Achieves Initiative. In her spare time, White is a volunteer with Make a Wish of the Mid-South. She is also a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Jackson Area Alumnae Association, where she serves as an advisor to the Beta Omega collegiate chapter and is service co-chair of the alumnae chapter.
She has received several honors to include “Jackson’s Finest Young Professionals” by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, “Outstanding Woman in Business” by the Jackson-Madison County African-American Chamber of Commerce, and was designated as one of the “Next Generation of Leaders” by her alma mater, Union University. Her accolades began early in her career and she was recognized as “Outstanding Recent Graduate” by her sorority shortly after college graduation.
White is a native of Ashland City, Tennessee and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Union University. She has been married to her husband, Darrell, since 2007 and they reside in Jackson.
