Lightning Source LLC, global print-on-demand leader, celebrated the opening of its 8th worldwide facility in Jackson, TN Wednesday. Lightning Source, a part of Ingram Content Group, is investing $22 million and will create nearly 150 jobs in Madison County over the next three years – 80 of which have already been filled.


Ingram expanded its presence in Jackson to include new print-on-demand operations alongside the existing distribution center located at 193 Edwards Drive in Jackson. The facility is Lightning Source’s 5th location in the U.S. and 8th worldwide.

Jackson Chamber, along with key leaders in the community is working on its five-year goals regarding the chamber’s mission for the city of Jackson and how to better align services with its stakeholders.
To gather information and content for this plan, the chamber is seeking information from the community with an online survey that is available to the public. The survey, being conducted by VisionFirst Advisors, is part of an overall organizational assessment.
In order to be successful, it is important for the Jackson Chamber to hear from the community. The 10 - minute survey gives the public the opportunity to provide feedback on its satisfaction with and the overall initiatives of the Jackson Chamber.
Participants will also have an opportunity to win a $100 gift card to use at a Jackson Chamber member of their choice. Survey information will remain private and confidential, as VisionFirst will provide names for a random drawing separately to the Jackson Chamber.

NASHVILLE – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are on board the Rural Strong Tennessee Bus and the Tour is coming your way. On September 26, 2019, the Rural Strong Bus Tour is making a stop in Jackson, Tennessee.


During the stop in Jackson, the SBA and USDA will be providing information to rural entrepreneurs on how the SBA, USDA, the State of Tennessee, and multiple state-wide partners extend services to assist entrepreneurs with starting, growing, and expanding their small businesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to board and explore the Venture Mobile Lab. This experience will allow small businesses to be inspired and become equipped with the tools needed to take their ventures to the next level.


In April 2017, President Trump issued an Executive Order promoting agriculture and rural prosperity through an Interagency Task Force. In support of that, the SBA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the USDA that commits to a deeper collaboration and coordination of the agencies’ resources. The SBA is working to increase access to capital, improve opportunities for public and private investments in rural America, and help rural businesses export products around the world. The effort aims to achieve the President’s vision of a rural America with world-class resources and the tools and support necessary to build robust, sustainable communities.

Scott Beard

Scott Beard was named Jackson Market Executive.


Regions Bank recently announced Scott Beard, Commercial Relationship Manager for Regions, has been elevated to serve as Market Executive for the bank in Jackson and surrounding West Tennessee communities.


As Market Executive, Beard will work with colleagues and community members to identify opportunities for the bank to make a meaningful difference through volunteer service, nonprofit support, delivering financial education and more.


Beard will also continue in his role as Commercial Relationship Manager, leveraging his local experience and market insights to deliver financial services to area companies and employers, while expanding Regions’ client base. He succeeds James Dusenberry in the Market Executive role.

Beard first joined the company in 2000, serving in a variety of roles at Regions branches before his promotion to leadership in Regions’ Consumer Banking group. He is a two-time Regions Chairman’s Club Award recipient, an honor recognizing top company performers.


As Market Executive, Beard will also lead the strengths of Jackson associates in addressing the needs of individual customers. This approach to service, known as Regions360, empowers local bankers to develop holistic solutions customized for individual clients. Beard’s community involvement includes leadership positions with the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, where he currently serves as Executive Board Co-Treasurer and as a member of the Endowment Committee. Beard was the Carl Perkins Center 2018 Blue Suede Dinner and Auction Chair and the 2014 Circles of Hope Telethon Chair.


Beard served as president of the Jackson Exchange Club from 2014-2015. He was recognized by Leadership Jackson with the 2017 Harbart Alexander Award, honoring an alumnus who has demonstrated unending volunteer service in the community following graduation. Beard is a 2003 Leadership Jackson graduate.

Trent Taylor has been promoted from Indirect Program Manager to V.P. of Indirect Lending. Taylor started with Leaders in 2013 and has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. At Leaders, Taylor has managed and grown our Indirect Lending Program over the past six years and has a proven track record of success. He has taken the program from $28 Million in annual volume to over $100 million annually. He works with over fifty dealerships in the West TN market and helps members success through this indirect channel. It allows new members to recognize Leaders as a viable option for all their financial needs. He also manages Leaders Edge CUSO (Credit Union Service Organization) providing underwriting to other credit unions. There he works with another 150 dealerships in Tennessee and Kentucky and processes over a billion dollars in loan requests each year. He is married to Joanne Taylor and has two step-children and two grandchildren.


Joel Wyatt has been promoted from Director of Consumer lending to V.P. of Consumer Lending. Wyatt began with Leaders as a student in 2006 and full time in 2012. He has served as an accounting assistant, teller, member service representative, branch manager, data analyst, and director of consumer lending. With his longevity and breadth of knowledge in various areas of the credit union, he was a natural fit to take on this Vice President role. He has proven to elevate Leaders and provide the best consumer lending practices to support membership and help Leaders grow year over year. Wyatt is married to Katie Beth Wyatt and recently had their first baby.


Kim Hawks has been promoted from Electronic Funds Specialist to Electronic Payments Manager. Hawks has been with Leaders since 1995 and has 24 years of experience in the industry. She has served as a teller, collection manager, administrative assistant and in electronic funds transfer services. Hawks has proven to be a lifetime financial champion for the team at every level at Leaders. In this managerial position, Hawks will oversee all electronic transfer services, debit and credit card management and works to prevent fraud in all electronic channels. She has been married to Fred Hawks for 39 years and has one son.
