Event Details

Spend the day after Thanksgiving, hiking and learning about the mysterious monuments left by the Middle Woodland Native Americans!
This hike will start at the park museum and from there will head out to the west side of the park where Mounds 28, 29, and 30 sit. Then take the Earthworks trail and loop back into the Nature trail to circle the Eastern Citadel area of the park, then continue on to the paved loop trail around to Mound 10, Saul’s Mound, and finally ending back at the museum.

The hike will begin at 9:30am, and should last until about 12:30pm. This will be roughly a 3 mile hike, with 2.2 miles being flat, paved trail, and .8 miles being natural terrain. Be sure to dress according to the weather as it is starting to cool off, and wear sturdy shoes. Don’t forget water as well!
