The American Flag display along the 45 bypass in Jackson is back May 19th through June 9th. The Flags of Freedom Project benefits the Exchange Club of Jackson and the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Over 800 American flags are set up each year to honor members of the military who have served and those who are currently in service, children who have lost their lives through neglect or abuse, and the communities’ first responders such as Firefighters, Police, and EMS.
The public is invited to the dedication ceremony on the grounds of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1730 45-Bypass on Tuesday, May 22nd at 11:30. Police and Fire Department vehicles along with other emergency vehicles will be on display. Individuals and veterans groups are invited to the dedication to be recognized.
Flags may be purchased for $25 in honor or in memory of someone by calling the Center at 668-4000 or visit jacksonexchangeclub.org or carlperkinscenter.org. Each flag includes a tag bearing the name of the honoree.
