WHEREAS, since 1984, the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) has provided small business assistance – starting and growing Tennessee’s small businesses and building the economy one business at a time; and
WHEREAS, despite the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic in the past year, the TSBDC was able to counsel 9,683 start-up and existing business clients; access to capital of over $194.19M; training for 12,000+ attendees; and 32,000+ new jobs were created; and
WHEREAS, the hard work and commitment demonstrated by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center has helped Tennessee to become a nationwide leader in job creation and small business growth; and
WHEREAS, March 17, 2021 has been designated as National SBDC Day;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Bill Lee, Governor of the State of Tennessee, do hereby proclaim
March 17, 2021 as
SBDC Day (Small Business Development Center)
in Tennessee and encourage all citizens to join me in this worthy observance.
