🔔 **Join us for Ring the Bells: A Race for a Cause!** 🔔

Area Relief Ministries & The Salvation Army invite you to be a part of our endeavor to support the Jackson-Madison County, Tennessee community during this festive season. Embrace the holiday spirit by participating in our 5K and 1-mile Kid’s Run, raising funds to aid those in need. Ring the Bells 5K & 1 Mile Kid’s is open to all – adults, children, runners, and walkers alike. There will also be a writing competition & arts & drawing entries!

Event Details:
The 5K course and 1-Mile Kid’s Run will wind through downtown Jackson, the LANA/Midtown area, and the University of Memphis at Lambuth campus. Preview the route: Ring the Bells 5K Route.

Expect an array of holiday delights – from hot cocoa, cookies, to Christmas costume contests! Dive into the festivities with local art displays and heartwarming Christmas story readings.

Schedule:
8:00 am: Sign-ups & breakfast kick off
9:00 am: 1 Mile Kid’s Run begins
9:40 am: Costume contest
10:00 am: 5K run starts at 10:00 a.m.
11:15 am Awards ceremony commences

Registration Fees:
$15 per child for the 1-mile run
$25 for the 5K run (without a t-shirt)
$30 for the 5K run (includes a t-shirt)
**Deadline: November 26th for t-shirt orders**

Every participant will receive a commemorative medal!

Art & Drawing Entry:
Submit your drawings or paintings for display at Ring the Bells 5K. Drop off your artwork at a Jackson-Madison County Library, local JMCSS school, or the Old Country Store by November 28, 2023. Don’t forget to include your name and age with your submission.

Writing Competition:
Share your Christmas stories for a chance to be read at the event! Submit your story by November 31, 2023, to your local Jackson-Madison County School System English teacher. The selected story wins a free entry into Ring the Bells 5K. All participants’ submissions will be announced and celebrated at the race. Remember, stories must be Christmas-themed and submissions must include your name and age.
