The Art Museum at the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus will be hosting artist Craig Colorusso for his Sound + Light installation. The art will be on display to the public at The University of Memphis Lambuth’s campus from April 19-24.
Sound + Light is a collection of pieces that work together to create art you may have never seen or heard before. The installation features Colorusso’s work of Sun Boxes, CUBEMUSIC, INSTALL, and a performance of Lady Bug Cathedral. It will also include workshops and other special events as well as off-campus outreach ideas.
Sun Boxes is comprised of 20 speakers playing one guitar note repeatedly, all powered by the sun via solar panels. CUBEMUSIC is a group of four-foot aluminum cubes that emit sound and light. These cubes will be set up indoors during the day and outside at night. INSTALL is a 20-minute short film capturing Craig’s installation pieces. Ladybug Cathedral is a live music piece of bowed guitar and bass clarinet.
“After this past year, I’m really looking forward to bringing work to Jackson, Tennessee to give people a chance to come and have a moment and be present with me amongst these pieces,” says artist, Craig Colorusso.
Craig is excited to bring the Jackson community a moment to breathe and be present with his art.
The University of Memphis at Lambuth will be taking COVID precautions with this event.
