Home Instead: The World’s Leading Provider of In-Home Care Services

March 28, 2022

Founded in 1994 in Omaha, Nebraska, the Home Instead® franchise network provides personalized care, support, and education to enhance the lives of aging adults and their families. Today, the network is the world's leading provider of in-home care services for older adults, with more than 1,200 independently owned and operated franchises that provide more than 90 million hours of care annually throughout the United States and 14 other countries.

Locally, Home Instead has been serving Jackson, and much of West Tennessee, since 2008.  Their main senior resource training center is in Jackson with a satellite office on the historic town square in Covington.

“We provide in-home care from 4 hours per day to around the clock, including nights and weekends,” said Bryson McQuiston, Home Instead Franchise Owner in Jackson. “Some clients need us for just a few weeks after a surgery and others months or even years.”

The local Home Instead office covers a 14 county territory and provides basic support services that enable older adults to live safely and comfortably in their own homes for as long as possible. Home Instead franchise owners partner with clients and their family members to help meet varied individual needs. Services span the care continuum – from providing personal care to specialized Alzheimer’s care and hospice support.

“After years of working with aging adults and their families in various settings, I decided to put all of that into practice and offer a way to keep seniors safe in their own home,” continued Bryson. “ Now, we are able to bring families peace of mind with in-home care, especially in the areas of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Arthritis, COPD, and other chronic health conditions.”

“Jackson and West Tennessee are a great place to live, work, and serve,” said Bryson. “The community embraces each other and works for the betterment of us all, not just a select few. All of the pieces are in place here for seniors to age well:  medical, social, spiritual, housing, and conveniences not found in the big cities, just to name a few.  I love the personal nature of the community and down-home feel, but with forward-thinking leaders who see the potential of healthy growth.  I have worked and lived in West Tennessee my entire life, so this is home.”

As the Home Instead Jackson Franchise continues to be involved in the Jackson community, through things like the Jackson Chamber, Leadership Jackson, Alzheimer’s Tennessee, American Heart Association, Shop with a Cop, Be A Santa to a Senior, and other non-profit organizations, they look forward to growing to serve more people in West Tennessee.

“The need has never been stronger to remain safe at home,” said Bryson. “We want to provide the very best of care and quality of life that each senior deserves.”
