Chamber launches Innovative New Online Service to Support West TN Businesses

October 28, 2020

The Jackson Chamber recently launched SizeUp Local Business Intelligence (LBI) on its website, making powerful market research and business intelligence available to help local businesses succeed.

All local businesses can now access industry-specific and hyperlocal information that may be utilized in making decisions about how to grow and become even more competitive businesses and employers using big data analysis. Access it here.

SizeUp allows companies to customize reports to their specifications. By using this service, local businesses can:

    1. Rank their business performance compared to industry competitors, so they may become more competitive employers
    2. Discover potential customers, suppliers, and better understand their competitive landscape
    3. Optimize advertising to target ideal customer segments
    4. Analyze local demographics, consumer spending, and labor force

“In today’s information economy, if you don’t have access to information, your business is at a significant disadvantage. With the launch of SizeUp LBI on the Jackson Chamber’s website, we are empowering small businesses in West, TN, to make more data-driven decisions and better operate, succeed, and grow,” said Kyle Spurgeon, president and CEO, Jackson Chamber.

SizeUp LBI helps level the competitive business playing field by providing small businesses with market research similar to what only large corporations afford by contracting multinational management consulting companies or hiring internal research analysts.

In the USA, over 99% of all companies are small businesses that create the majority of all net new private sector jobs (Source: US Small Business Administration and US Bureau of Labor Statistics). From 1993 to 2015, small businesses created 425% more net new jobs than large companies (Source: US Bureau of Labor Statistics). In addition, locally owned businesses create a larger economic impact on the local economy because more money spent with them is re-spent locally.

“The Jackson Chamber and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) are committed to helping local businesses succeed. Small businesses are the foundation of our local economy, employ our residents, create new jobs, and make the community a more prosperous place, says Monique Merriweather, director, TSBDC/Jackson State Community College. The chamber’s launch of SizeUp will be an excellent resource for these companies.

SizeUp LBI uses big data, cloud computing, and computer algorithms to deliver customized analysis. The data comes from hundreds of public and proprietary data sources covering firmographic, demographic, geographic, labor, wage, cost, consumer spending, transportation, and more.

This new service provided by the Jackson Chamber is free and available anytime through the chamber’s website at jacksontn.com/chamber/#content-CBDA.
