Position: Events & Marketing Coordinator
Reports to: Chief of Staff
Salary Range: Commensurate based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time (Exempt)

Position Overview:
The Marketing & Events Coordinator will take the lead in the planning & implementation of Chamber events while working to market the overall organization and our activities. This person must deliver excellent customer service, be a self-starter, a good listener, and able to work collaboratively. The Events and Marketing Coordinator needs to be an organized, self-motivated person with attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the planning, logistics and management for on-site and off-site events
  • Establish timeline and calendar for all assigned events, and make decisions during the planning and implementation phases
  • Assist with securing, maintaining and invoicing for sponsorships
  • Create and follow budgets for assigned events
  • Maintain registration process
  • Ensure post event and program communications/thank you to event sponsors, partners and participants
  • Maintain up-to-date spreadsheets on each event: participants, sponsorships, payments and budgetary information
  • Create and maintain event descriptions and registrations on the Chamber website and database
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with local members who provide services for events
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff members to accomplish successful programs and events
  • Attend and facilitate all events as assigned
  • Promote and advertise events through online platforms including, but not limited to social media
  • Assist with development of marketing materials for chamber events, special events, prospect visits, community tours, etc. to ensure event and brand standards
  • Help to track success of e-blast, campaigns, website analytics, and social media engagement
  • Assist in developing, writing and proofing content for marketing materials and social media channels
  • Assist with digital communication efforts, including posting and updating content on the Chamber website and building and distributing marketing emails.
  • Assist in public relations efforts
  • Maintain consistent branding
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to work independently, conceptualize projects and manage multiple priorities
  • Broad knowledge of Chamber initiatives, programs, and services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience in software programs including but not limited to: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed
  • Experience with email newsletter platforms like Constant Contact
  • Knowledgeable in Google Analytics
  • Work effectively with outside vendors to accomplish objectives
  • Ability and flexibility to prioritize and work on multiple assignments
  • Strong presentation skills along with experience in dealing with the public
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular work hours on an as needed basis
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Preference for and proven success with highly detailed work
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and tact, and to manage diverse groups of people
  • Professional appearance

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, sales, or a closely related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
  • 2-3 years experience preferred.
  • The candidate should have knowledge of event planning, marketing, public relations, communications, and sales.
