City of Jackson to host 6th Community Clean-Up Day
The City of Jackson, TN’s Health and Sanitation Department will hold its sixth Community Clean-up Day (Mattress, Tire, and Furniture Disposal event) on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at West Tennessee Healthcare North Hospital (parking lot), 367 Hospital Blvd., Jackson, TN 38305.
This bulk waste drop-off and paper shredding event will help our residents better discard large items that are difficult to dispose of elsewhere. This event will allow citizens to shred documents and drop off items such as tires, mattresses, furniture, and bulk items over 50 pounds.
City of Jackson, TN Recycling Coordinator Robin Chance hopes that the 6th community day clean-up and paper shredding event will help citizens properly dispose of items otherwise difficult without this event. “We hope to encourage people to use their twice a week trash service, 12 annual scheduled bulk waste pick-ups, and events like this free community day clean-up to promote a safer, healthier, and cleaner city of Jackson. During this event, we will also divert items that can be recycled from the landfill to our City of Jackson, TN Recycle Center.”
