Chamber Welcomes New Manager of Events

Alexis Long has been named as the Manager for Events for the Jackson Chamber.  She will begin her new role Monday, August 4.

“I'm eager to join the chamber team and look forward to working with members to ensure that our events are exciting, educational and successful,” Long said.

As the Manager of Events, Long will plan, coordinate and conduct activities to ensure an increase in the chamber’s overall non-dues revenue. She is also responsible for the execution of chamber events and activities within the scope of the organization, and working closely with the Communications Coordinator to market all events to the membership and general public.

"We are excited to have Alexis join our team," said Kyle Spurgeon, President/CEO, Jackson Chamber. “Her creativity and talent give Alexis the skills to plan and execute a wide variety of events for the chamber.”

Long began her career at the United Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Tennessee, where she worked as a Marketing Representative. As the Marketing Representative, she was responsible for planning, promoting and hosting all of the company functions. She also acted as a physician liaison and provided the communication link between the hospital and referring providers. Long also worked as an intern for Lotos Nile Public Relations & Marketing Firm in Nashville, where she assisted with online marketing campaigns, social media efforts and collaborated media pitches.

Recently, Long served as the Events Coordinator for Gourmet Your Way, LLC in Jackson. As the Events Coordinator, she organized multiple events, provided oversight and delegated tasks among staff members. She also developed many relationships within the community during her role.

Long, a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), has a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communication with a concentration in public relations and minors in marketing and organization communications. While at MTSU, she served as the Social Director and Corresponding Secretary for her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. Through her sorority, she volunteered her time at the Ronald McDonald House.

Long currently volunteers her time with the Boys & Girls Club in Jackson and is also a member of the Jackson Cotillion Club. She resides in Jackson with her husband, Andrew Long.
