Chamber Welcomes New Communications Coordinator

Julie Daniels has been named Communications Coordinator for the Jackson Chamber. She began her new role in September.

As the Communications Coordinator, Daniels oversees public relations for the chamber and coordinates all chamber communications. She is responsible for marketing efforts, including social media, news releases, graphic design, photography, media appearances, news conferences, economic development marketing and email marketing.

"I love Jackson and am highly enthused to work with a wonderful group of people that care deeply, not only about the direction and economic growth of Jackson, but the health and well-being of each individual," Daniels said.

"We are excited to have Julie join our team," said Kyle Spurgeon, President/CEO, Jackson Chamber. "Her skillset and broad experience in marketing and public relations will be an asset not only to the chamber, but to the entire community."

Daniels began her career in communications as midday radio personality, Julie Rhodes, in Selmer, Tennessee at WXOQ/Q105. She then moved to Jackson to work for WYNU radio. Over the years, Julie has worked with various media outlets including WBBJ TV, Thomas Media, Wolfe Communications and The Jackson Sun. Titles held include weather forecaster, program director, music director, production assistant and most recently - graphic designer.

Daniels is a graduate of Freed Hardeman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. She holds a B.S. in general studies from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama, where she majored in art, speech and business. She has also taken classes in graphic design at Union University. With a love for music, Daniels acquired music scholarships at Freed Hardeman University and Faulkner University where she performed throughout the Southeast.

Daniels enjoys being active in the community, having served the last two years as voluntary communications coordinator for "A Taste of Jackson and West Tennessee" and "Signature Chefs" events for the March of Dimes. She is a regular on the "Circles of Hope" telethon that raises money for the Exchange Club/Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. She sings with her band, Bullettown and is a member at Campbell Street Church. She resides in Jackson with her husband, Jim and two stepsons.
