Jackson Chamber announces the official retirement of Judy Renshaw, Executive Director of Leadership Jackson, on May 16, 2015. Renshaw has been committed to community service for many years and was recently honored by the naming of Leadership Jackson Alumni Association’s youth scholarship to “The Judy Renshaw Leadership Jackson Alumni Association Youth Scholarship.” This scholarship is funded through the association and amounts to at least $1,000 and as much as $2,000, payable to the college or university during the student’s freshman year with multiple scholarships presented each year based on the pool of dollars available.
“Judy exemplifies what it is to be a servant leader,” states Kyle Spurgeon, President/CEO, Jackson Chamber. “This community is a better place because of her career at the chamber and efforts molding Leadership Jackson to be one of the premier leadership programs in the country.”
Jim Campbell, Chairman, Jackson Chamber Board of Directors, says, “Judy has established a remarkable example of professional and effective service to our Chamber. Her guidance in identifying and training our community’s future leaders in our Leadership Jackson program will impact our community for years to come.”
Judy’s recent community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, where she has served as Chairman of the Board, Chaired the Blue Suede Dinner & Auction and Chaired the Circles of Hope Telethon. “It is time for me to start a new chapter in my life focused toward family and using the gifts God has provided to serve in new ways. It is hard to leave a job and work family that I love, but I know all the friendships I have made through those forty years are friendships forever. I look forward to spending quality time with family and friends," says Mrs. Renshaw. " I am indebted to the Jackson Chamber for not only giving me a job in 1975, but giving me a career that has been an amazing opportunity to grow in so many ways. It has been an honor to be a team player in the vibrancy and growth of our community through the years.”
Ryan Porter, Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel, Jackson Chamber, will manage Leadership Jackson and the Leadership Jackson Alumni Association after May 16.
