6K Energy is the world’s first UniMelt plasma cathode plant, and is happy to call Jackson, TN home. They seek to provide low-cost, ultra-sustainable production of battery material for localized supply chains in the US. Their PlusCAM production plant will be a full-scale battery material manufacturing plant in Jackson, Tennessee, with 13K metric tons per annum (tpa) production capacity, 160,000 sq/ft, and approximately 230 employees.

The company has established key academic partnerships to bolster local industrial programs, ensuring that students receive relevant and high-quality training. This includes scholarship programs like the $6K for 6K Scholarship with Lane College, which supports a student pursuing a career in STEM within the College of Natural and Physical Sciences. They have also established several others, all specifically designed to support technical training, which is critical for developing a skilled workforce. 6K also has partnered with Jackson to enhance summer and afterschool programs, working to increase STEM literacy by providing youth with valuable learning opportunities and experiences.
