North Star Nutrition is locally owned and operated by Lee & Anna May Garrett, who opened their doors in April 2021. What started as a small Herbalife business in Anna May’s home quickly grew into something much bigger.

Anna May originally began her Herbalife business from home and started teaching others how to make the drinks themselves. As the business grew, it became clear that the next step was opening a storefront. The Garretts began looking for a location in December and, just four months later, opened North Star Nutrition in April 2021.
What sets North Star apart is the Garretts’ commitment to doing things well—even when it requires taking a risk or making an uncomfortable investment. They believe in using the best ingredients, keeping the store fully stocked, maintaining a large staff, offering extended hours, and continually investing back into the business and their customers. They are proud to use Herbalife products and believe they offer some of the best products available.
But for Lee and Anna May, North Star is about much more than drinks. It is about people, relationships, and community.
Lee was born and raised in Jackson, while Anna May is an Oklahoma transplant, and they have grown to truly love the Jackson community. One of their favorite parts of owning a local business is being able to give back and support the community that has supported them. North Star regularly sponsors local schools, athletics, arts organizations, and other community initiatives because they believe that investing in Jackson is an investment in their own future as well.
At the heart of everything they do is their faith. The Garretts believe that their ultimate provider is Jesus Christ and recognize that they are nothing without Him. They are grateful for the opportunities and blessings He has given them and strive to honor Him through the way they operate their business and serve others.
Their goal for the future is simple: North Star Nutrition is here for the long haul. Every decision they make is about building something that will last—not making a quick buck. They want to continue investing in their staff, customers, products, and community so that North Star can remain a strong part of Jackson for many years to come.
For Lee and Anna May, success isn’t just about how much the business grows. It’s about who they get to serve, what they get to give back, and the legacy they can build together.
