Founded in 1985, the Community Foundation of West Tennessee serves as one of the region’s philanthropic leaders. As the only organization of its kind in rural West Tennessee, the Community Foundation is dedicated to building a stronger community by connecting visionary donors with the local causes that matter most.

One of the Community Foundation’s most dynamic initiatives is 100 Women Who Care: West Tennessee. This program empowers women to harness the power of collective giving to create a significant, lasting impact. The initiative is more than just a donor circle; it is a community of leaders dedicated to learning about the local nonprofit landscape and supporting the organizations that keep West Tennessee thriving.
How it Works: Each January, the Community Foundation accepts grant applications from regional nonprofits. These are reviewed by a volunteer selection committee of 100 Women Who Care members, who narrow the field to six finalists. At the annual awards luncheon, members network and hear directly from these nonprofits before voting to determine which organizations receive funding.
Members are the heart of this mission. By participating, they take an active role in shaping the grant process and ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our region. Whether you are a seasoned philanthropist or looking for your first way to give back, 100 Women Who Care offers a unique opportunity to network, volunteer, and lead alongside like-minded women dedicated to making West Tennessee better for everyone.
