Event Details

Concert will feature the  Concert Band and Jazz Band, both groups were started almost 30 years ago!

Our fall concert will be held Monday, November 28th, 2022 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Savage Chapel, Union University in Jackson. Admission is free and the public is invited. This will be a joint concert with our two groups, the Symphonic Winds (conducted by Tony Burris) and the Swing Orchestra (conducted by David Kyles).

The Symphonic Winds will be playing a program featuring “A Festive Overture” by Dmitri Shostakovich as well as works by Brian Balmages including ‘Sun Cycles” and “The Crystal Fountain.” We will perform the lively “Caccia and Chorale” by Clifton Williams, and the El Capitan March by Sousa. Finally, to get everyone in a festive spirit we will present “Christmas Recollections” by Edmondson.
Following the Symphonic Winds will be our Swing Orchestra, with selections including 12th Street Rag, Autumn Leaves, “Bone” Talk, Cajun Cookin’. Caravan and more.
Our musicians are all from our local West Tennessee area.
