For nearly two decades, Christmas light fans have ventured off Interstate 40 near Brownsville to see the Markowski house as its light display has grown since David Markowski and his family moved to Coburn Road in 2004.

But the house will be in the national spotlight on Wednesday as it will be featured on ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight.”

The big thing that’s new this year is a Christmas tree display that’s 26 feet tall and 42 feet wide at the base that visitors drive under.

The lights go on about dark every night from Thanksgiving until Dec. 31 each year, and stay on until 10:30 p.m. during the week and 11 p.m. on the weekends.

The house is at 1675 Coburn Road, which is just off Exit 60 at Interstate 40. There are signs directing visitors to the house, which is about a mile-and-a-half from the exit.

“We usually have visitors on the weekends including Santa Claus, Olaf from Frozen and we had The Grinch last week,” David said.
