In 2019, Deswick Bonds Jr. was the manager of a telecommunications company in Nashville, but had always wanted to become a Real Estate Agent. Out of this dream, he researched, prayed, set goals, and opened his own real estate school.

However, Mind Matters Career Institute isn’t just an established Tennessee Real Estate School. It’s also a one-stop shop for certifications and trainings. They provide virtual piano lessons, leadership and development courses, customer service training, and more.

Mind Matters Career Institute hopes to continue to be a resource in Jackson that bridges the community and affordable education. Future plans include creating a vocational education program that provides high school students hands-on experience within their field of interest, so when they graduate high school they already have a career in their desired field. They are also looking to provide high school students with avenues to pursue Cosmetology, Audio Engineering, Acting, Financial Literacy, and more.

“What I love the most about doing business in the community is having a hand in the CHANGE that we are experiencing today,” said Bonds. “Since I relocated here (Jackson), the support and resources have been overwhelming. I have been intentional about learning the history of this great city and let me tell you, it is RICH.”
