Brad Keltner, Jackson, Tennessee, is the new regional director in Modern Woodmen of America’s Tennessee West Region. He began his career with the fraternal financial services organization in April 2002.

“I grew up around this organization and feel like this business is in my DNA,” says Keltner. “My father and grandmother both had long and successful careers with Modern Woodmen. This career helps me impact our members’ lives and make a positive difference in West Tennessee.”

As a fraternal financial services organization, Modern Woodmen offers life insurance, financial planning, annuities and member benefits to support the goals of its members and their families. In turn, members make an impact in their communities through local social, educational and volunteer activities.

One of Keltner’s top goals for his region is to add talented people to his team of financial representatives.

“I want our representatives to set the standard for financial services professionals in their communities,” he says. “Mentorship is important to me, and I will work closely with our managing partners to identify prospective leaders.”

Keltner also plans to highlight Modern Woodmen’s fraternal difference: “Our focus is on our members, not Wall Street,” he says. “We impact our members’ lives through financial advice and through our fraternal offerings, like fraternal member benefits and social, educational and service activities.”

In 2018, Modern Woodmen provided $3,539,485 in fraternal contributions to social, educational, volunteer and fundraising activities in Tennessee. The state’s 44,373 Modern Woodmen members are organized in member groups called chapters, Summit chapters and youth service clubs.

In hiring financial representatives, Keltner has his eye out for a few key qualities. “They must be ambitious, energetic, coachable and have great communication and relationship-building skills,” he explains. “But the two most important qualities are honesty and a belief in the products we offer.”

He adds, “We have a rich history of success in our region, and I have a very rewarding career. It’s my mission to continue building a region that our members and team can be proud of.”
