Small businesses are the backbone of local economies, driving growth, innovation, and community. They are more than just the corner stores and local restaurants we frequent; they are an integral part of our community. With Jackson experiencing growth in many different directions, it's more important than ever to "Shop Small". Our Small Businesses are the heart of who we are.
When you spend a dollar at a local small business, a significant portion remains within the community. That dollar is recirculated in the community 2-4 more times, creating an economic ecosystem where money circulates within the community, bolstering local job creation and ensuring the vibrancy of the neighborhood market.
Apart from economics, local businesses contribute to the unique character of our community. Small businesses are often the name you see on the back of a t-ball shirt or on the gym wall in support of the teams that our children play on. When you go to a gala or event with an auction, the odds are that those items were donated by one of your neighbors who runs a small business. They drive and support our community in ways that go beyond just money.
Local business owners bring a level of expertise and a personal touch to their services, often going above and beyond to cater to their customers' needs. This personalized service fosters a sense of trust and loyalty, with business owners becoming advisers and friends, not just vendors. When you walk into a suit shop, and they know you by name, or a coffee shop that starts to prepare your drink when you walk in the door, these are things that can change a bad day to a good one and make anyone feel the love from a friendly small business owner.
By supporting small businesses, we contribute to the resilience and prosperity of our community. We help ensure a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable local economy. Throughout February, our Chamber will show small businesses the love they deserve. We hope you will choose to spend your dollars locally and let that one dollar impact 3 or 4 times what it would if you spent it elsewhere.
This month, we encourage you to support small businesses and show the love.
