Stanley Black & Decker Donates $25K to The Foundation for COVID Relief

May 20, 2020

The Foundation announced today it received a donation from Stanley Black & Decker to support its COVID-19 Response Fund. The fund provides quick response grants to organizations working with those who have been impacted by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

“Our community’s strength comes from our ability to support one another,” said The Foundation’s Vice President of Operations, Beth Koffman. “Without corporate partners such Stanley Black & Decker, we could not assist the community in the way we do. Their generous donation will go a long way in helping those who have been most affected by this virus.”

“Stanley Black & Decker is immensely proud of our partnership with The West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation, which is just one part of our company-wide effort to empower the front lines in the fight against COVID-19,” said Don Tucker, Plant Manager at Stanley Black & Decker. “True to our purpose – For Those Who Make The World – we are committed to doing our part by helping communities and governments mitigate the effects of the virus.”

In addition to this donation, Stanley Black & Decker is supporting COVID-19 response efforts in other critical ways. The company’s tools and storage units, engineered fasteners, and security solutions are used by the essential health care, first responder, construction, maintenance, transportation, government and medical manufacturing workers. Stanley Black & Decker is developing 3D face shield printing, innovations in mask technology, and fasteners and battery technology for medical products such as respirators.

About the COVID – 19 Response Fund:

The Foundation established the fund in March 2020 to administer grants to non-profit agencies working with our most vulnerable communities in response to this crisis. These grants address pressing issues such as:

  • Residents who have experienced job loss or significant reduction in hours
  • Residents who have lost income due to school or daycare closures
  • Residents who lack adequate benefits to cover time off
  • Residents who are food insecure
  • Residents who are housing insecure

  • To date, The Foundation has provided more than $27,000 to assist organizations working with those adversely affected by COVID-19 with more grants to be awarded in the coming weeks.
