What will you Discover?

Discovery Park of America is an impressive, state-of-the art 100,000-square-foot museum sitting on a beautifully landscaped heritage park in Union City, Tennessee.

And while the beautiful building has quickly become an iconic masterpiece and a must-see attraction in the region, the real magic takes place every single day as a spirit of creativity and exploration of new ideas is sparked in the children and adults who visit. Offering a variety of programs, exhibits and hands-on activities both inside and out, a visit to Discovery Park enriches the lives of guests, and they leave each time having been inspired to See Beyond. That means inspiration to learn, inspiration to grow, inspiration to consider new ideas and inspiration to see beyond wherever an individual is in life, regardless of age or education.

With exhibits and interactive, hands-on experiences focused on science, transportation, technology, history, art and more, you literally never know what inspiration you’ll find right around the corner. Discovery Park’s museum showcases ten exhibit galleries focused on topics like science, space, technology, the military, natural history, regional history, art, transportation and more. The 50-acre outdoor heritage park includes a man-made river flowing through the extensively landscaped property, along with waterfalls, bridges and other water features.

This one-of-a-kind center for education was first envisioned by Robert and Jenny Kirkland with the location of Union City chosen as a way of giving back to their hometown. Hundreds of individuals from around the region joined them in the planning and construction of the museum and park, and more than 1.8 million guests have visited since opening day in Nov. 2013.

Something new arrives on Dec. 5, 2020, as Discovery Park will open an exciting, new experience in the Simmons Bank Ag Center. “AgriCulture: Innovating for Our Survival” will tell the story of farming innovation in the past, present—and especially—future in a fun and interactive way. Visitors of all ages will gain an understanding of how food, fuel and fiber get from the farm to the family, and the role technological, scientific and genetic innovation in agriculture plays in society and culture around the world.
